PAYMENT SYSTEMS

PAYMENT SYSTEMS

Payment systems consist of a set of instruments, procedures and arrangements that facilitate the transfer of money or securities among their participants.

In accordance with the “Law on Payments and Securities Settlement Systems, Payment Services and Electronic Money Institutions” payment systems are defined as structure providing the infrastructure and common rules required for clearing and settlement transactions made for ensuring fund transfers resulting from transfer orders given by three or more number of participants, while security settlement systems are defined as structure providing the infrastructure and common rules required for clearing and settlement transactions made for ensuring security transfers resulting from transfer orders between three or more number of participants. However, “payment systems“  expression can be used for both payment systems and securities settlement systems de facto. To provide convenience, “payment systems” expression is used for both of them in this website.
