Governor Erdem Başçı participated in a panel discussion held by The Institute of International Finance (IIF) on Thursday, 5 June 2014 at 5:30 p.m. local time in Turkey.
Governor Başçı emphasized the following points:
- The pace of GDP growth is around 4 percent.
- Inflation is expected to begin its descent as of the June CPI data.
- Loan growth rates are approaching 15 percent.
- The improvement in the current account deficit is expected to continue.
