CENTRAL BANK OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY PRESS RELEASE

Regulations prepared by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey regarding activities and oversight of payment and securities settlement systems are published in the Official Gazette.

The Law No. 6493 on Payment and Securities Settlement Systems, Payment Services and Electronic Money Institutions is enacted by being published in the Official Gazette No. 28690 of 27/6/2013.
In accordance with the Law No. 6493, to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operation of payment and securities settlement systems, the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey is authorized for making necessary arrangements to set principles and procedures regarding activities and oversight of the systems.
In this context, “Regulation on Activities of Payment and Securities Settlement Systems” and “Regulation on Oversight of Payment and Securities Settlement Systems” are enacted by being published in the Official Gazette No. 29044 of 28/6/2014.
