PRESS RELEASE ON THE REDEMPTION PERIOD FOR E7 EMISSION GROUP BANKNOTES

It was announced in Official Gazette No. 26028 dated 19 December 2005 that the Seventh Emission Group (E7) banknotes with denominations of 250,000; 500,000; 1,000,000; 5,000,000; 10,000,000 and 20,000,000 would be withdrawn from circulation as of 1 January 2006. The 10-year redemption period for these banknotes will end on 31 December 2015, close of business.

Accordingly, the said banknotes may be exchanged at the branches of both the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey and T.C. Ziraat Bankası until the close of business on 31 December 2015. The E7 banknotes will lose their value as of 1 January 2016.
