Press Release on the Issue of TRY 20 and TRY 5 banknotes of E9 Series, Version V
As per the authorization given to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey by Law No. 1211, the E9 series, version V banknotes in denominations of TRY 20 and TRY 5 will be put into circulation as of 29 September 2021.
Compared to TRY 20 and TRY 5 banknotes of E9 series, version I, II, III and IV in circulation, the signatures on TRY 20 and TRY 5 banknotes of version V have been rearranged to include Governor Prof. Şahap Kavcıoğlu’s signature as well as the signatures of the following authorities in the respective order:
- Deputy Governor Prof. Semih Tümen,
- Deputy Governor Dr. Uğur Namık Küçük.
Except for the signatures, the new banknotes will be identical to version I, II, III and IV banknotes with regard to their dimensions, obverse and reverse compositions, general features and appearances.
Version I, II, III, IV and V banknotes will be circulated concurrently. An announcement regarding version V TRY 100 and TRY 50 banknotes will be made at a later date.
