Press Release on the Revision in Residential Property Price Index

The method for calculation of the Residential Property Price Index has been revised. The revised series provides increased timeliness and will be launched on 16 August 2024. |
As part of the revision, the Residential Property Price Index series has been calculated via the new method starting from January 2010, and the updated series will be shared with the public on 16 August 2024 with publication of the “July 2024” figures.
The series will now be calculated using a monthly data set rather than a data set of three months. This allows the timeliness of the publication to be increased from t+45 days to t+15 days. Moreover, the models as well as the weighting method have been changed, and the base year of the series has been revised as 2023.
Detailed information will be accessible in the Metadata and the Methodological Changes documents on the Residential Property Price Index page and the series will be available under the EVDS/All Series/Residential Property Price Index heading as of the launch date.
In addition, details of the revision will be presented in the blog post titled “An Evaluation of the Revision in Residential Property Price Index Calculations” to be published on the CBRT Blog simultaneously with the publication.
