Press Release on the Second Meeting of the Council of Central (National) Banks of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States

The Second Meeting of the Council of Central (National) Banks of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was hosted by the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan on June 4, 2026 in Baku. |
The meeting, chaired by the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was attended by the Governors of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, and the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan, as well as the Governors of the Central Bank of Hungary and the Central Bank of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as the OTS observer members, and the Secretary General of the OTS.
The meeting provided a platform to assess the monetary and financial policy responses of central banks to global and regional risks, as well as the development of digital financial ecosystems. The participants also reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening cooperation among member states. The Council decided that the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye would host the third meeting in 2027.
Governor Fatih Karahan signed the Communiqué of the meeting together with the Governors of the Central Banks of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan.
On the sidelines of the meeting, members of the Council were received by H.E. Ali Asadov, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan.
