Bekir Bayrakdar was born in Kocaeli in 1971. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1995 from the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Political Sciences, Istanbul University.
Bayrakdar worked as Assistant Specialist of Accounts and Specialist of Accounts at the Board of Account Specialists between 1996 and 2004, and as Acting Deputy Treasurer, Acting Chief of Revenue Administration Unit, and Acting Head of Tax Administration at the Kocaeli Tax Administration between 2004 and 2008. He held positions as a Treasurer at the Istanbul District Treasury between 2008 and 2014, as the Director General at the Directorate General of Accounting between 2014 and 2015, and as the Head of Tax Administration at the Istanbul Tax Administration between 2015 and 2019. He has been working as Commissioner at the Turkish Revenue Administration since 2019.
Mr. Bayrakdar also served as a Board Member at Sakarya Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. between 2008 and 2010, Anadolu Yakası Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. between 2010 and 2014, Adabank A.Ş. between 2014 and 2019, and Takasbank A.Ş. (Istanbul Clearing, Settlement and Custody Bank Inc.) between 2019 and 2023.
He holds a Certified Public Accountant certificate and an Independent Auditor's license.
Mr. Bayrakdar has been a member of the Auditing Committee of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye since 1 May 2023.
