Prof. Elif Haykır Hobikoğlu

Elif Haykır Hobikoğlu was born in 1977 in Ankara and graduated from the Faculty of Economics at İstanbul University in 1999. She began her academic career as a Research Assistant at the Faculty of Economics at İstanbul University. She received her master’s degrees from the Social Sciences Institute at the Department of Economics at İstanbul University in 2003 and also earned her Ph.D. at the same department in 2009. She became an associate professor of macroeconomics in 2014 and was appointed a professor in the same field in 2019.

Prof. Hobikoğlu has authored many books and academic studies on macroeconomics, monetary policy, behavioral finance, growth and development.
She is married with three children.

Prof. Hobikoğlu has been a member of the Board of the CBRT since 18 May 2020.
