Kemal Madenoğlu

Born in 1964 in Konya Seydişehir, Kemal Madenoğlu graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Department of Sociology in 1988.

Mr. Madenoğlu started his career in 1989 as an Assistant Specialist at the State Planning Organization (SPO). He conducted his post-graduate studies between 1992 and 1994 at the University of Colorado, and became a planning expert in 1995.

In 2003, Mr. Madenoğlu was appointed as the General Director of Social Sectors and Coordination at the SPO, and became the Undersecretary of the SPO in 2009. In addition to his position as undersecretary, he also served as the Coordinator of the Istanbul Financial Centre until 2014 and as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University until 2016. After the restructuring of the SPO into the Ministry of Development in 2011, he continued to serve as undersecretary in this Ministry until 2014.

In 2014, Mr. Madenoğlu was appointed as undersecretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, where he worked in until 2016.

After serving as the Permanent Representative of Türkiye to the World Trade Organization in the capacity of ambassador between 2016 and 2021, he served as a member of the Foreign Policy Advisory Board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2022 to 2024.

Mr. Madenoğlu is married and is a father of three. He speaks English.

Kemal Madenoğlu, has been a member of the Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye since 1 May 2024.
