Prof. Metin Toprak
Auditing Committee Member

Born in 1966 in Ardahan, Metin Toprak earned his bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. degrees from Istanbul University, Faculty of Economics, Department of Economics.

Prof. Toprak worked as a faculty member and administrator at various levels at Istanbul University, Eskişehir Osmangazi University, International University of Sarajevo, the University of the Turkish Aeronautical Association, Kırıkkale University, and Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. He also held positions as the Vice President of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, Vice Chairman of the Turkish Competition Authority, Deputy President of the Center for Assessment, Selection, and Placement (ÖSYM), and chairman and member of several boards and commissions under the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK).

He served as the team leader for the drafting of the Turkish Referencing Report, which references Türkiye's general, vocational, and academic education systems to European frameworks. His main areas of interest include the financial system and economic development, social policy, poverty, and reforming the higher education system. Prof. Toprak currently works as a faculty member at Haliç University.

Prof. Metin Toprak has been a member of the Auditing Committee of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye since 1 May 2024.
